Hi,

the credibility of the Police is repeatedly called into question by their ineptitude, dishonesty and corruption!

Top cop Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe says names of Maddie kidnappers are known

POLICE believe they know the names of Madeleine McCann’s kidnappers.

Britain’s top policeman Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe revealed the breakthrough on a radio phone-in show yesterday.

Radio Five host Nicky Campbell, 52, asked: “And you have lines of inquiry, you have suspects, you have names?’’

Sir Bernard, 56, replied: “That’s right.’’ Asked if detectives had “spoken to those people” the Met chief said: “I’m not going to go any further.’’

But he said the investigation was being hampered because Portuguese police were pursuing a different line of inquiry.

He repeated his call for both forces to unite for the sake of Madeleine’s parents Kate and Gerry, both 45.

The police chief said: “In the middle of all this quite often their torment gets lost.

“Have they lost a child by being murdered, sadly, or have they lost a child by someone else stealing them? Either way they have got that terrible uncertainty.”

“We’re making some progress. Let’s see how it comes over the next few months”

UK detectives are hunting a three-strong burglary gang they suspect snatched Madeleine in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz seven years ago.

But Portuguese police suspect a heroin addict who has since died.

Sir Bernard added: “We have said clearly that we have got lines of inquiry that are different to the Portuguese police and we are working with them to try and resolve that. We really can work in genuine partnership on this.

“We’re making some progress. Let’s see how it comes over the next few months.’’

He refused to criticise the original Portuguese investigation which was shelved as unsolved in 2008.

“No matter what they did or didn’t do we have got to work together on this,’’ he said. “We can’t police Portugal. They can’t do everything over here.’’

  1. It can be assumed that Madeleine is alive and has not suffered any harm. She is still alive and possibly even happy in the hands that took her away for reasons very different that the ones that have been speculated about. This individual possibly in part felt that -he was saving her from- irresponsible parents that instead of caring for their children, went for dinner with friends.
All the lachrymatory mawkish declarations can not cover the fact that the parents were very self indulgent and irresponsible and got what they deserved by another person still hiding in the shade that had suffered a similar situation and acted in affect out of the emotions without any intention to hurt an innocent sweet lovely little girl, only a monster would harm a child…
If not found soon, she might feel curious when she grows up more and suddenly be confronted
with this case and ask herself questions… But very probably this will be solved earlier if the one that abducted her decides to end the story or is discovered because a flash of intuition and some Latin way of thinking clear the whole matter for good…melipal

    • Hi,

this is a pleasant bedtime story but I can see no evidence to support it but there is every evidence that Madeleine McCann is to this day missing and in view of her age I believe it is probable that Madeleine died that night.

There is very little evidence that there was an abduction and that there has been not one iota of evidence of abduction subsequently inclines me to believe there is very little chance it was an abduction.

Even in the unlikely possibility of abduction or the more probable likelihood of death there is one absolute certainty and that is that it came about as a result of the crass and selfish behaviour of her parents when they left the 3 babies alone to go out carousing with their pals in a taverna some 100 yards away. That they were well aware of the risks of their behaviour is obvious in that their first defence was to claim that they had returned to check the babes – what of the time between these alleged checks? Checks which were uncorroboratedf by any credible third parties, including the attentive waiters in the taverna.

Do be minded of the comment of the NSPCC:

Babies, toddlers and very young children should never be left alone
Parents and carers can be prosecuted for neglect if it is judged that they placed a child at risk by leaving them at home alone

Sadly I do not believe there is any realistic hope that your hypothetical scenario and outcome is remotely probable.

      Regards,
      Greg_L-W.
