Hi,

Greg_Lance-Watkins Retweeted Sky News

It is my opinion the know died & believe they know those who perpetrated the cover_up. Continuing to search is akin to the continued search in the as they seek conclusive evidence for prosecution & conviction.

As regular readers of my web material will be aware EVERYTHING I post is done identifiably in my own name and my contact details are readilly available. I only accept incomingt phone calls from identified numbers thus all number witheld calls are blocked – also I have made it clear I have a recording device on my phone line to provide evidence to the police and Courts when I receive foul, abusive and threatening calls.

I do try to ensure I publish facts and when I state my opinion I identify it as such.

One FACT that is 100% irrefutable is that if Kate & Gerry McCann had not recklessly abandoned their 3 babes to go out carousing in a local Teverna their daughter Madeleine would not have ‘gone missing’ whether she had died in her sleep of natural causes, died at the hand of her parents or in a tragic accident she would not now be missing.

Had Kate & Gerry McCann been responsible parents and wished to go out for the evening they could and should have provided a safe environment for their 3 babes, easily done by employing a baby sitter – a service readily and inexpensively available in the resort.

To claim the child was abducted is TO ME implausible in the light of the facts and the lack of evidence and were it true surely that makes the parents’ reckless abandonment even more culpable.

Police to be given more funding for Madeleine McCann search

Detectives investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann will be given more funding for the search.

The Home Office has confirmed that the application from the Metropolitan Police for more money to keep the probe, called Operation Grange, going will be granted.

A spokesman said: “The Government remains committed to the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

“We have briefed the MPS that its application for Special Grant funding for Operation Grange will be granted.”

Police will be given more funds to keep the investigation alive (PA)

Police will be given more funds to keep the investigation alive (PA)

Government funding for the investigation has been agreed every six months, with £154,000 being granted from October last year until the end of March.

More than £11 million has been spent so far on the probe to find the missing girl, who vanished from the family’s holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in Portugal in May 2007, aged three.

Madeleine’s parents Kate and Gerry McCann, of Rothley, Leicestershire, have vowed never to give up hope of finding their daughter.

In 2011 the Met Police launched its own investigation into what had happened to the child.

Hi,

Maddie: Did the BBC bend the truth?

On the night Madeleine McCann disappeared, an Irish tourist saw a man with a child matching her description near the McCann apartment. His testimony could prove vital to the world’s most famous missing person case, especially since the man he saw that night has never come forward

 f6b21-mccanneasyjet

On a cold May night in 2007, Martin Smith and his family were walking home after an evening out in the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz. A retired businessman from Drogheda, Co Louth, he co-owned an apartment there and was a regular visitor to the Algarve town.

The crowds of summer had yet to arrive and the normally bustling streets of the old quarter lay quiet. It was approaching 10pm when some members of the family of nine were suddenly struck by the sight of a man walking quickly towards them holding a small child uncomfortably in his arms.

As he passed close by them on the narrow street, the child appeared to be in a deep sleep, her head placed over his shoulder and arms suspended down her body.

She was blonde, aged around four and wearing pyjamas. Despite the chill in the air, her feet were bare. Martin and his daughter Aoife noted that her skin was very white. The man carrying the girl was middle-aged and more formally dressed than the average tourist, in beige trousers and a dark blazer-like top.

A member of Martin’s family made a comment towards him that the child was sleeping but he did not respond or make eye contact, keeping his head down as he hurriedly headed in the direction of the coast.

At the time, Martin did not realise the sighting had the potential to change the course of the world’s most high-profile missing-person case.

The following morning, he got a text from his daughter in Ireland to tell him that a three-year old girl had gone missing in the resort. The approximate time frame and location he had witnessed the man and child appeared to match.

By now, the mystery of what happened to Madeleine McCann was beginning to grip the world. Martin brought his mind back to the evening before and wondered if the child he saw could have been her. The girl certainly matched Madeleine’s description and the sighting had taken place at Rua da Escola Primaria, just 500 yards from the McCanns’ apartment. In time, Martin would become convinced he was correct.

Over a decade has passed since Madeleine McCann went missing on May 3, 2007 yet the case of the British three-year-old remains mired in more questions than answers. The mainstream media, who have by and large backed Gerry and Kate McCann’s version of events with the support of several A-list celebrities and politicians, appear to have lost interest in a story they once could not get enough of.

The very opposite is true on social media. The internet swirls with allegations and theories that the McCann story is littered with holes and does not stack up. Countless videos have been posted on YouTube by armchair detectives challenging the parents’ seemingly at times bizarre behaviour, in particular their reactions in certain interviews when the finger of blame shifts towards them.

Some are compelling to watch and have highlighted what appear to be discrepancies and confusion in certain accounts given by the McCanns and some of their friends about what happened in the period before and after Madeleine disappeared.

The McCanns in Lisbon in 2014

“It was like watching an action replay”

Gerry McCann, a consultant cardiologist from Scotland, and his Liverpool wife Kate, a GP and anaesthetist, said they had put their daughter and two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie to bed at around 7pm, had drinks together for almost an hour and then left the children alone to go to a tapas bar 50 yards from their apartment. There they met seven friends with whom they were on holiday. They told police that they and their friends checked on the children every half hour.

Gerry said he went to the apartment at 9.05pm and all the children were sleeping soundly. He said Madeleine was lying on her left-hand side in exactly the same position she was in when they had left her.

At 9.25pm, his friend, Dr Matthew Oldfield told police he went to check on the McCann children. He said afterwards he could not be certain that he saw Madeleine on that check.

Kate McCann said she went back to the apartment at around 10pm, entering through the patio doors that they had left unlocked. She said she noticed that the door of the children’s bedroom was “completely open” and that the window was also open and the shutters raised. She said she scoured the apartment, then left the twins asleep in their beds before running back to her friends in the tapas bar and claiming Madeleine had been taken. At 10.41pm, her disappearance from Apartment 5A of the Ocean Club resort was reported to police by hotel staff.

Overnight the story made headlines around the world. Several days after Madeleine disappeared, the Smith family flew back home, but the sighting remained at the back of Martin’s mind. He discussed it with his wife Mary, son Peter and daughter Aoife who were with him that night.

When they tallied the time and location, and the fact that the man they had seen had come from the direction of the Ocean Club complex where the McCanns were staying, they were convinced that it could have been Madeleine they had seen.

They decided to inform investigating police, and at the end of May 2007, Martin, Aoife and Peter flew back out to Portugal to make statements. They gave similar accounts of the man they had witnessed: average build, short brown hair, beige trousers; and the child: blonde, around four, and wearing pyjamas.

As the summer passed, the mystery of what happened to Madeleine McCann continued to perplex the world but life returned to normal for the Smiths. Then one Sunday evening in September, it came back to haunt Martin again. He was sitting at home watching TV when a report came on the BBC ‘News at Ten’ about the McCanns’ return to Britain. As he watched Gerry coming down the steps of the plane, carrying his two-year-old son in his arms, Martin was gripped by what he had just seen and described the experience as watching “an action replay” in his mind.

He was instantly brought back to the night of May 3 in Praia da Luz. Something about the way Gerry was holding the child in his arms and the way he put his head down seemed shockingly similar to the man he had seen in Portugal the night Madeleine went missing. He said it hit him like a “bolt from the blue”. He watched the clip again on different news channels reinforcing his belief that he was not mistaken.

During this period, Martin had difficulty sleeping and felt sick with anxiety. He contacted the Garda and informed them of what had happened.

He told them he was 60-80% sure the man he saw carrying the child that night was Gerry McCann. His wife Mary felt the same way.

Irish officers found him credible. A local garda who interviewed him on behalf of the Portuguese authorities described him as a genuine, decent man who did not want to court the press or seek publicity.

But while Martin’s evidence seemed compelling, independent and without motivation, much to his frustration, it was not given the attention it seemed to deserve.

Almost a year after he made his initial statement to police, he was approached by private detectives working for the McCanns and asked to make e-fits (electronic facial identification images), of the man he had seen the night Madeleine disappeared.

The McCanns say they gave these pictures to the police at the time but chose not to publicise them. Instead they remained focused on another sighting by their friend Jane Tanner, one of the so-called Tapas Seven group of friends who had been on holiday with the couple and who dined with them the evening Madeleine disappeared.

She claimed to have seen a man carrying a child away from their apartment complex at around 9.20pm, but in the opposite direction to the man allegedly seen by the Smiths.

The picture of Gerry McCann that caused Martin Smith to have a flashback which has haunted him for years

However, more than six years later, in 2013, the Metropolitan police announced that a British tourist had come forward to say he could have been the man she had seen as he carried his daughter home from the Ocean Club late night creche.

The Tanner sighting was about to be dismissed. The Met would switch their attention to the man seen by the Smiths. The e-fit images were finally released and the then chief investigating officer Andy Redwood said the timeline leading up to Madeleine’s disappearance was being rewritten, especially the 90 minutes between 8.30pm, when the McCanns left their children to go to the restaurant and 10pm, when they discovered their daughter missing.

A reward of £20,000 was offered to anyone who could assist with the investigation. But then the story of the Smith sighting took another bizarre twist as allegations emerged in the media that the family had retracted their statements. The public were being told that this potentially critical development was just another red herring.

The BBC even went as far as to make this claim. In a ‘Panorama’ programme broadcast in May 2017 to mark the tenth anniversary of Madeleine’s disappearance, presenter Richard Bilton told viewers that the Smiths had changed their mind about seeing Gerry McCann and now believed they had seen someone else.

In recent weeks, I have spoken to Martin Smith at his home in Drogheda. He told me he continues to stand by everything he said to police in 2007. At no point did he withdraw his statement or change his mind about the sighting.

An e-fit image of the ‘Smith man’ who has never come forward

He is frustrated by media claims that he now says he was mistaken; and remains “60-80 per cent” convinced that the man he saw that night was Gerry McCann.

After the BBC programme was broadcast, Martin contacted ‘Panorama’ and informed them of their inaccuracy. But the broadcaster failed to correct the record despite its public service remit.

Last month, I asked the BBC why they had wrongly suggested the Smith sighting had been withdrawn and if they were willing to correct their error at this late stage.

I received a reply acknowledging that they had indeed broadcast an inaccuracy. They agreed to update the ‘Panorama’ programme on their iPlayer to reflect the correction. They say the mistake was made in good faith but they have failed to explain how they came to make such a fundamental error and why they did not check if their story about the Smiths was correct before they aired the programme.

Former Scotland Yard murder detective Colin Sutton is one of a number of experienced officers who believe the Smith sighting is one of the most important pieces of evidence available to the investigation.

According to media reports, Sutton had been tipped to head up the new probe by British police in 2010. He claims he received a call shortly after these reports from a high-ranking friend in the Met who warned him not to take on the job as he would not be happy being told what he could and could not look at.

Several aspects of the new investigation perplex him including the apparent decision by Operation Grange not to question Gerry and Kate McCann or their friends again.

“Looking at the background to the whole case again, inconvenient suggestions like the Smith sightings, have been dismissed on a number of occasions”, he says:

“When someone comes forward like that, it must be taken very seriously. It wasn’t just a throwaway phone call. It was something quite specific. The fact that Mr Smith’s memory was triggered by seeing Gerry Mc Cann carrying the child down the steps of the plane is quite relevant because I think that is how the mind works. It is a trigger I would take quite seriously.”

“I can see no reason why Martin Smith would make up these claims. He has nothing to gain from doing so”.

Operation Grange

To date, Operation Grange, which now consists of four detectives from a peak of 31, has cost the British public more than £11m making it one of the most expensive police investigations in history. It was launched in 2011 after the Portuguese closed their enquiry in 2008. Funds are expected to run out at the end of March. Grange has been heavily criticised for refusing to reinterview Gerry and Kate McCann and the so-called Tapas Seven. The Met said local police had already done this and there was no need to repeat the process, but the Portuguese investigation was littered with failings and best practice in cases like this dictates it is always important to eliminate those closest to the child first.

In Britain, as matters currently stand, if the authorities are any closer to finding the chief suspect in the world’s most famous missing child case, they are certainly not saying.

As for the man the Smiths saw that night, he has yet to come forward to eliminate himself from the enquiry and remains unidentified.

Hi,

Madeleine McCann Detective Kevin Halligen Found Dead

Kevin Halligen denied that donated money was used to pay for first-class travel and luxury hotel suites.

A private detective accused of exploiting the hunt for Madeleine McCann to fund his lavish lifestyle has been found dead.

Kevin Halligen, 56, gained notoriety when his firm Oakley International was used by the toddler’s parents to help search for their missing daughter.

His Washington-based company received about £300,000 of cash donated by the public after Madeleine vanished from an Algarve resort in May 2007 at the age of three.

PA
Kevin Halligen has been found dead

He was later forced to deny claims the money was actually siphoned off to pay for first-class travel, luxury hotel suites, a chauffeur and a mansion in Virginia, US.

Adrian Gatton, a TV director and investigative journalist, who made a documentary with Halligen in 2014 for Channel 5 – The McCanns and the Conman – and who knew Halligen well, confirmed to the Press Association that he died last Monday, having sunk into alcohol addiction.

He said: “Although his death is certainly not foul play, as has been suggested, there are certainly a lot of people who wished him ill. But he was also unique. I knew chapter and verse about his life and career, but my interest was really to try and get to the bottom of why he did what he did

“My understanding is that he was found dead on Monday night. There was blood around the house, probably caused by previous falls when he was either drunk or blacking out.

“Halligen was increasingly shambolic and these blood stains hadn’t been cleared up. His house was full of empty drink bottles. A lot of people wished him ill but his death is almost certainly related to alcoholism.”

Surrey Police said the death was currently being treated as “unexplained”.

A spokesman said: “We were called to an address in Cobbett Hill Road, Normandy, on Monday following a report of a man in his 50s having been taken unwell, who subsequently died. The death is being treated as unexplained and a file will be passed to the coroner’s office in due course.”

The McCanns used the Irish national’s firm for around six months to look for their missing daughter. The £500,000 contract saw the firm hire private detectives, set up a hotline and process information.

The McCanns terminated the arrangement without paying the full fees because Halligen, from Surrey, apparently failed to fulfil certain agreements.

He was then extradited to the US in 2012 to face charges over an unrelated £1.3 million con, to which he pleaded guilty in 2013.

Dutch company Trafigura were targeted in the scam, being told by Halligen that he needed funds to secure the release of two business executives who were arrested in the Ivory Coast.

In an interview for a 2014 Channel 5 documentary, Halligen denied claims he misused money raised to find Madeleine.

He said: “It is gross distortion of what was actually happening. The print media in particular took this line that really nothing was being done, I was living the high life on the proceeds of the McCann case. Trust me, I didn’t buy so much as a new suit. The money, all of it, is fully accountable.”

Hi,

My life as a Madeleine McCann suspect’: Russian computer expert reveals the threats, ‘blackmail and bribery’ he faced after being probed by cops over girl’s disappearance

Madeleine McCann: Collateral damage

  • Sergey Malinka, 32, was named as a suspect after Maddy went missing in 2007
  • Detectives noted he contacted another suspect shortly after her disappearance
  • His name was raised again in 2014 when Scotland Yard officers questioned him
  • Malinka was cleared of all suspicion, but says he endured ‘bribes and threats’
  • He has teamed up with British author David S Jones to write Collateral Damage
  • Police are still investigating 10 years after Madeleine McCann, 3, disappeared
Sergey Malinka has written a book about his experience as a Madeleine McCann suspect

Sergey Malinka has written a book about his experience as a Madeleine McCann suspect

A Russian computer expert named as a suspect in the Madeleine McCann case is set to reveal the ‘bribing, threatening and blackmailing’ he claims he endured in a new book about the long-running investigation.

Sergey Malinka, 32, was named by Portuguese police as an aguido, or suspect, shortly after Madeleine disappeared in Praia da Luz, in 2007.

He became a person of interest after detectives noted that he had contacted another suspect at 11.30pm on May 3, 2007, around an hour-and-a-half after police were first called over the missing three-year-old.

Malinka was also said to have fitted the description of a man seen close to the hotel where the McCanns were staying.

His apartment was searched and computers seized. Malinka’s car was then firebombed and the word ‘Fala’, meaning ‘speak’ scrawled in red paint outside his apartment.

At the time, Malinka said:  ‘The disappearance of a child is always difficult. No parent would want any of that to happen to anyone.

‘So I wish and truly hope that Madeleine will be found and returned to her parents.

‘I have a clear conscience. I have nothing to worry about.’

Then in 2014, Malinka’s name was briefly raised again as a suspect because of an investigation by Scotland Yard detectives.

While he was told he was no longer under suspicion,  Malinka claims there has been an impact on his business and personal life from being connected to the investigation.

Madeleine McCann was three-years-old when she went missing in Prai da Luz, Portugal, in 2007 and an age progression image of what she would have looked like on her ninth birthday.

Now a decade on, he has teamed up with British author David S. Jones, the co-creator of popular children’s series, Fireman Sam, and who also lives in Praia da Luz, to write Collateral Damage, a book about his experiences.

Malinka, who is set to become a father, said he wants to clear his name so that his child does not have to grow up in the shadow of suspicion that has hung over him for a decade.

Announcing his intention to publish the book next year via Kickstarter, Malinka said in a video: ‘There was alot of slandering and facts that weren’t checked.

‘Ten years has passed, but every time I think about this it’s very difficult for me.

‘You will find out the most revealing details about my story –  the bribing, the threatening, the blackmailing, the defamation and just general aggravation from the public.’

Speaking to the Sunday Express, he added: ‘I was 22 years old when it happened, a young man alone in a foreign country.

Kate and Gerry McCann continue to look for their missing daughter, Maddy, a decade on

Kate and Gerry McCann continue to look for their missing daughter, Maddy, a decade on

‘I have been driven to the point of dejection, being involved in a web of lies, betrayals and threats.

‘The deceits of others have driven me to the edge of despair, sometimes to the point of no return, but time heals even the deepest wounds.’

The search to discover what happened to Madeleine McCann – Operation Grange – is one of the longest, most high-profile and costly police investigations in history.

Launched in May 2011, officers have sifted (and translated) 40,000 documents produced by Portuguese police who conducted the initial investigation, and by the eight teams of private detectives who have worked on the case.

Some 600 ‘persons of interest’ have been examined and ‘sightings’ of Madeleine — in Brazil, India, Morocco and Paraguay, on a German plane and in a New Zealand supermarket — assessed.

Author David S Jones has teamed up with Sergey Malinka to write Collateral Damage

Author David S Jones has teamed up with Sergey Malinka to write Collateral Damage

The team have taken 1,338 statements and collected 1,027 exhibits. Officers have probed more than 60 people of interest while the team has considered 650 sex offenders.

In total, there have been 8,685 potential sightings of Madeline across the globe.

Over the past few months, the Grange team — now down to four detectives from a peak of 31 — has been criss-crossing Europe trying to locate a ‘woman in purple’, who is of interest to the investigation.

Their budget had been due to run out in September, but officers are understood to have used the ‘woman in purple’ line of investigation to persuade the Home Office — which is financing the inquiry from central government funds — to grant a six-month extension.

The £154,000 agreed will allow inquiries to continue until March, taking the total spent on Operation Grange near to £12million.

Hi,

Left alone as babies unattended in a holiday flat, in a foreign country, whilst they went out carousing with chums in a tapas bar.
Their gross & criminal irresponsaibility led to the irrefutable fact that as a result of their action Madeleine McCann disapeared that evning and has not been seen since!
There have been claims made by some that they believe the children were drugged with legitimate medical drugs to make them sleep and as a result Madeleine died and the death was covered up by the parents, others claim there is a possibility of infantiside, some believe Madeleine woke and wandered off looking for her parents – less plausibly of course is the possibility of abduction.
Whatever the cause the outcome was that Madeleine McCann has not been seen since that night was that her parents left their 3 babies alone and unattended, left alone in an irresponsible and selfish act of hedonism by their parents was the one undeniable action that made that outcome possibility.
Sickeningly from the facts presented on Twitter and published below the parents are so concerned that the truth may come out or at least be discussed and speculated on that they have recruited and funded people to ‘run flack’ and deflect people from such natural discussion – be they private detectives, lawyers or a group of vile trolls – like the self styled Michael Walker who we are given to understand is their friend Michael Wright.
Below is just one thread on the subject on Twitter:

Hi,

Open letter to Operation Grange from retired police officer.

An Open Letter to Operation Grange

on 08.10.17

John Coxon, former Met Police, on Facebook

I wish to register a formal complaint in regard to Operation Grange , the so called Met Police search for Madeleine McCann.

I do so on the following grounds.

1/ It has blatantly and inexplicably failed to look at the parents and accompanying party as suspects in the investigation.

This is in complete disregard to the findings in the original Portuguese investigation.

Namely

A/ multiple and significant discrepancies in their accounts

B/ deletion of mobile phone data and obstruction of evidence

C/ multiple indications by forensic cadaver and blood dogs in their apartment on Kate McCann’s clothing , the child’s toy and on a vehicle they hired 3 weeks after her disappearance. Also a close DNA match found in the boot of the same vehicle.

D/ An eye witness account naming Gerry McCann as the so called prime suspect, Smith man.

E/ The McCanns refusal to cooperate , answer questions and take part in a reconstruction which shelved the original enquiry

F/ Allegations from two healthcare professionals that at least one of the party , doctor David Payne is a paedophile.

They were made suspects for all these perfectly valid reasons , it is apparent that Operation Grange has failed to address a single one of them. The Portuguese closing report does not exonerate them at all , I presume during the 5 years of its existence Grange was aware of these matters , yet has acted as if none of this ever happened.

More specifically , Met police chief Hogan Howe has on at least one occasion claimed the McCanns have been ” ruled out” , firstly , this is at complete odds with Granges opening statement which claims ” treat the abduction as if it happened yesterday” clearly implying they were totally off the table from the start , secondly it is simply impossible as there is no independent evidence that exonerates them and if there was the McCanns publicity machine would be screaming it from the roof tops.

2/ It is apparent lines of enquiry have been leaked to the media. If this were the case and a live child were being held captive , it would clearly endanger that individuals life, obviously a totally unacceptable situation. Furthermore these leaks have frequently coincided with an ongoing civil case the McCanns are fighting in Portugal , too frequently for comfort.

3/ This failure to investigate properly has boosted the McCanns public profile, helped promote KMs book sales and enabled them to take on further projects. Do you believe , for instance KM would have been made an ambassador for a charity had the Met asked her the same 48 questions she refused to answer in Portugal? I doubt it.

4/ Grange has wasted huge amounts of public money and police time chasing shadows in Portugal which its legal advisors must surely have told them were not viable lines of enquiry. In other words it has done a lot of work and spent a lot of money for the sake of doing it , no other credible reason.

The conclusions here are blatantly obvious.

Operation Grange is a whitewash – a vast PR exercise to promote an abduction scenario that not one shred of evidence exists to support ever even happened.

The implications are equally obvious .

A/ It obstructs the real police investigation going on
in Portugal

B/ It potentially supports a criminal fraud of huge proportions the McCanns ongoing business.

C/ It undermines the entire credibility of the whole Metropolitan Police Service ( as if it needed any further help)

D/ It threatens the credibility of the entire UK criminal justice system.
In summary Grange is simply corrupt , it has misappropriated huge amounts of public money , it potentially lets child murderers walk free, it is beyond a disgrace, it is worthy of extensive investigation in itself …

Hi,

100 reasons why Madeleine McCann was not abducted

sharonl | Published on the 22.08.17 22:32

100 reasons why Madeleine McCann was not abducted

Compiled by ‘Truestepper’ on Sky Discussions:

“It reminds me of a quote from the FBI:”

“Taken alone, each piece of evidence might be argued, but together, enough pebbles become a block of evidentiary granite.”

PHYSICAL / APARTMENT / ENTRY

1. All five markers in a sample found under the tiles, behind the sofa (exactly where Eddie, the EVRD [Cadaver] dog and Keela, the CSI [Human Blood] dog, both indicated), are 100% compatible with Madeleine’s DNA profile

2. Fifteen of the markers, in a sample found under the luggage liner of the McCann’s Scenic (hired 24 days later), are 100% compatible with Madeleine’s DNA profile

3. Shutters were not jemmied or forced, as claimed by the parents

4. No signs of forced entry anywhere in the apartment

5. No physical evidence of anyone having entered or left via the window, including:

6. No Lichen disturbance

7. No Fibres

8. No Finger prints of abductor

9. No footprints on bed

10. Only finger prints on the window are those of Kate

DOGS

11. Eddie, the EVRD (Cadaver) dog, positively alerted to the McCann’s wardrobe in 5A

12. Eddie, the EVRD (Cadaver) dog, positively alerted at the back of the sofa in 5A

13. Eddie, the EVRD (Cadaver) dog, positively alerted to the veranda outside the parent?s bedroom

14. Eddie, the EVRD (Cadaver) dog, positively alerted to the flower bed at the back of 5A

15. Eddie, the EVRD (Cadaver) dog, positively alerted to a white sleeveless top belonging to Kate

16. Eddie, the EVRD (Cadaver) dog, positively alerted to checked trousers belonging to Kate

17. Eddie, the EVRD (Cadaver) dog, positively alerted to a child?s red T shirt

18. Eddie, the EVRD (Cadaver) dog, positively alerted to a toy belonging to Madeleine

19. Eddie, the EVRD (Cadaver) dog, positively alerted to the key of the McCann’s rental Scenic car

20. Eddie, the EVRD (Cadaver) dog, positively alerted to the passenger’s door of the McCann’s Renault Scenic

21. Keela, the CSI (Human Blood) dog, positively alerted at the back of the sofa in 5A (exact same spot as alerted to by the EVRD dog)

22. Keela, the CSI (Human Blood) dog, positively alerted to the key of the McCann’s hire car

23. Keela, the CSI (Human Blood) dog, positively alerted to the interior of the hire vehicle’s boot

TANNER SIGHTING

The only perceived evidence of abduction, being the sighting by Jane Tanner at around 21.15 is riddled with inconsistencies and conflicting testimonies, being the fact that

24. None of the scent tracking Search & Rescue dogs followed that trail, and in fact followed another trail completely

25. Jeremy Wilkins (independent witness) failed to spot the ?abductor?, despite being only yards away, while chatting to Gerry

26. Jeremy Wilkins (independent witness) failed to see Jane Tanner walking by, despite being on the same narrow sidewalk at the same time

27. Gerry himself failed to spot the abductor, despite being only yards away, while chatting to Jeremy

28. Gerry contradicted Jeremy by stating that their chat was on the opposite side of the road from that as described, and drawn on a map, by Mr Wilkins

29. Gerry also contradicted Tanner, by stating that his chat with Jeremy was on the opposite side of the road from that mentioned by Jane

30. Jane failed to spot the open window and shutters and blowing curtains coming from Madeleine’s bedroom while walking to her apartment at 21.15

31. Jane failed to spot the open window and shutters and blowing curtains coming from Madeleine?s bedroom while walking from her apartment at 21.20

32. Jane never bumped into Jeremy Wilkins (who had walked back to his apartment after the chat with Gerry) while walking back from her apartment at 21.20

33. Russell O’Brien failed to spot the open window and shutters and blowing curtains coming from Madeleine’s bedroom while walking to his apartment at 21.30

34. Matthew Oldfield failed to spot the open window and shutters and blowing curtains coming from Madeleine’s bedroom while walking to his apartment, which was right next door, at 21.30

35. Matthew failed to spot the open window and shutters and blowing curtains while checking on Madeleine and the twins

36. Matthew failed to spot the open window and shutters and blowing curtains coming from Madeleine’s bedroom while walking from his apartment back to the Tapas at around 21.35

37. Jane failed to spot the open window and shutters and blowing curtains coming from Madeleine’s bedroom while walking to her apartment at 21.45

38. Russell failed to spot the open window and shutters and blowing curtains coming from Madeleine’s bedroom while walking back from his apartment at 21.50

39. Tanner’s description has changed several times

40. It makes no sense, especially if (as the McCann’s claim) that this was a well planned abduction, that the abductor walks across the very road used by the parents to check on their children

41… The abductor failed to hear either Tanner, Gerry or Wilkins, and continued on the path that would put him in the full vision of all three

42… If the abductor had lifted Madeleine out of the bed, then he would be carrying with her head to his right hand side, not on the left as in Tanner’s claimed sighting

SMITH SIGHTING

43. The Smith family (independent witnesses) sighting has, with the exception of one brief mention two years later, been completely ignored by the McCann’s and their private detectives from day one (no e-fit / press conference / media onslaught) despite the fact that?

44. There was huge publicity given to the Tanner sighting, including the pressure put on the Portuguese authorities to get the details out there

45. The Smith family descriptions have never changed

46. The sighting was only minutes before the ‘alarm’ was raised

47. The sighting was only 250 metres from the apartment

48. This sighting would have explained many of the inconsistencies of the Tanner sighting as mentioned above

49. There were several members of the family who witnessed this man carrying a child

50. The general area and timing of the sighting made by the family can be corroborated by a restaurant receipt for that evening

51. The general description of the man could fit Gerry McCann

52. The description of the child matches Madeleine

53. The type of trousers match those possessed by Gerry

54. Trousers match in terms of colour

55. Trousers even match in terms of the visible buttons as mentioned by one of the family

56. Martin and his wife later identified the carrier, through the distinctive carrying style, as being Gerry McCann

Given much of the above, the remarkable coincidence that?

57. The pressure put on the PJ to highlight the Tanner sighting came at exactly the same time as the Smith family were being brought back to Portugal to go over the sighting in more detail

58. The sighting was in a different part of town from the Tanner sighting

59. It was also heading in a completely different direction

60. The carrying style was completely different to that of the Tanner sighting

61. And yet the McCann’s deliberately altered the Smith sighting carrying style so as to match that of the Tanner sighting, during the only ever significant mention of the sighting, in a McCann made reconstruction aired only a few days after Amaral’s (in which he included the Smith sighting)

62. They also tried to morph the carrier into the same man as seen by Tanner, despite significant differences in descriptions

BEHAVIOURAL

There are many instances of strange behaviour from the McCann’s, not being consistent with parents of a child abducted by paedophiles, including (but not limited to)?

63. Kate complaining about the speed of a police vehicle while being take to look into a new lead at PJ HQ (sighting caught on CCTV)

64. Gerry laughing and joking and sucking lollipops while one of the most significant abduction leads came to a climax

65. Very little mention of the huge award available over the last three years

66. Despite raising millions through their fund, and spending thousands on media monitoring, they continue to charge for travel kits and for printing off posters designed to help find their daughter

67. Lack of physical searching during the first few days

68. Lack of physically handing out leaflets / putting up posters themselves

69. Hiring cowboy private detectives with no expertise or experience in finding children

70. Gerry smirking when asked by a Sky News presenter how he feels when someone comes forward who is certain that they have seen Madeleine

71. When up to 14 possible sightings of Madeleine emerged in Malta, resulting in a huge police operation including Interpol, the McCann’s hot footed it to Germany for more TV plugs

72. When the most promising sighting of all was made in Belgium, a 110% certain sighting by a child therapist, considered so credible by authorities that they despatched a forensics team, the McCanns went looking in Huelva, Spain

73. Gerry’s initial claim, as overheard by another holidaymaker, within minutes of the alarm being raised, that Madeleine had been taken by paedophiles. How did he know that?

74. Gerry caught on Camera laughing his head off only a few days after his daughter had been abducted by paedophiles as claimed by the parents

75. Despite refuting the claims of the dogs / Scenic findings, the McCann’s continued to submit ridiculous reasoning for them, including Sea bass, sweat, dirty nappies, rubbish en-route to dump, rotten meat, and attending to 6 bodies before the holiday, amongst others

76. Kate refusing to answer 48 police questions

77. The McCann’s and their holiday friends all refusing to attend a police reconstruction

78. Despite the Madeleine’s disappearance looking like an inside job from the outset, the McCann’s and their friends were happy enough returning their children to the MW creche just hours later, despite not knowing if any of the staff were involved

79. When Kate raised the alarm, she ran back to the table, leaving the twins in the apartment while not knowing whether the abductor(s) were still onsite

80. Kate shouting They’ve taken her!?, not distinguishing between Madeleine and her sister Amelie

STATEMENT INCONSISTENCIES

90. When describing Madeleine sleeping that night, Kate said she was under the covers where as Gerry mentioned that his daughter slept without the covers, as was normal

91. Matthew Oldfield initially claimed that Kate and the children were at the tennis courts when he arrived there at 18.30 where as the rest of the Tapas 9 claim otherwise

92. David Payne’s 18.30 / 18.40 check on Kate (last person out with the parents to see Madeleine) : According to Kate the sliding door was closed, and that David didn’t actually enter the apartment, remaining at the door. But according to David, the door was open and he definitely entered the apartment.

93. Matt Oldfield chivvying up the Payne’s at 21.00 : Matt claims he passed them near the top of the road, but David claims to have passed him by the swimming pool, Fiona claims to have passed him outside 5A, and Dianne Webster initially claimed that Matthew wasn’t even there.

94. Prior to the PJ arriving at 12:40/12:50 Russell O’Brien has written the timeline for them all, including, Jane tanner sees stranger walking carrying child. He does this while Gerry McCann sits at the same table. However, according to Jane Tanner it’s three o’ clock in the morning when she informs Gerry McCann for the first time

OTHER

95. Various other possible withheld evidence as hinted at, including intercepted phone calls / text messages

96. Independent witness statement (from McCann neighbour) regarding the luggage door of the McCann’s hire vehicle being open morning, noon and night

97. Gerry’s missing hold-all / tennis / kit bag which he was seen with the day Madeleine disappeared cannot be located by detectives

98. Gaspar (UK GPs) statements detailing concerns about the father and one of his friends on holiday with them

99. Yvonne Martin (Social Worker) statement regarding concerns about the same friend

100. This same friend calls the Metropolitan Police Crime Specialist Director (a number which is also used as the out of hours contact for the Met’s Child Abuse Investigation Team) 24 hours after the alarm

NSPCC –

Guidelines on when it is acceptable to Leave children at home alone State unequivocally

  1. Babies, toddlers and very young children should never be left alone
  2. Parents and carers can be prosecuted for neglect if it is judged that they placed a child at risk by leaving them at home alone

Do be minded that the 3 McCann babies, and yes I do mean babies as the eldest was Madeleine and she was not yet four and in the eyes of the law she was a baby/toddler left in charge of two much younger babies, they were not even left at home – they were left in a strange appartment in a foreign country, where she could not even speak the language!

What the law says

Strange as it may seem, there’s no set age for leaving children home alone. The law simply says that you shouldn’t leave a child alone if they’ll be at risk.

There’s such a wide variation in the rate that children mature that it would be almost impossible to come up with a “one size fits all” law. Instead, the choice is left to parents. They know their children best and can use their own judgement.

Girl baking cake

That’s not to say that there are no laws on leaving children home alone. Under the Children and Young Persons (England and Wales) Act 1933, the Children and Young Persons (Scotland) Act 1937 and the Children and Young Persons (Northern Ireland) Act 1968, parents and carers can be prosecuted for neglect. This means that they can be fined or sent to prison if they are judged to have placed a child at risk of harm by leaving them at home alone, regardless of where in the UK the child lives.

There might not be a specific legal age to leave children alone but it’s safe to say babies, toddlers and young children should never be left alone, even if it’s just while you pop down the road. Even if they’re sleeping peacefully when you leave they could well wake up and get very upset when you’re not there to look after them. They would not be able to protect themselves in an emergency and may even try to leave the property to find you.

NSPCC advice on leaving a child at home

  1. Babies, toddlers and very young children should never be left alone
  2. Children under the age of 12 are rarely mature enough to cope in an emergency and should not be left at home alone for a long period of time
  3. Children under the age of 16 should not be left alone overnight
  4. Parents and carers can be prosecuted for neglect if it is judged that they placed a child at risk by leaving them at home alone
  5. A child should never be left at home alone if they do not feel comfortable with this, regardless of their age
  6. If a child has additional needs, these should be considered when leaving them at home alone or with an older sibling
  7. When leaving a younger child with an older sibling think about what may happen if they were to have a falling out – would they both be safe?

Things to consider before leaving a child home alone

No one knows your child quite as well as you do – so use your knowledge of what they’re really like to answer these questions. This won’t give you a definite answer about whether the time is right to leave your child alone at home, but it’ll certainly give you plenty to think about.

  1. Does your child seem to be responsible and mature for their age and always do what you tell him or her?
  2. Would they be able to fix themselves something to eat and drink and would you be happy with them using the cooker or microwave?
  3. Can you imagine how they’d cope in an emergency like a power cut or a flooded bathroom?
  4. Would they know what to do if the phone rang or someone came to the door?
  5. Would they know how to contact you or another family member or friend if they needed to? Do they have these contact numbers to hand?
  6. How would they feel about being left alone – pleased to be given the responsibility or scared by the thought of it?

But remember, if you or your child are even the teeniest bit unsure about leaving them at home on their own, it’s always best to be on the safe side and arrange some other kind of care for them such as a babysitter or childminder.

There is no doubt or argument which exhonourates Drs. Kate & Gerry McCann for having left their 3 babies alone and unattended in a rented flat in a foreign country where they didn’t even speak the language. Do be minded they were not left alone whilst the parents popped out, which would have put the babies at risk, but whilst the two Doctors left their babies to go out carousing with chums in a tavera some 100 yards away out of sight and sound of the babies.

However often they may claim to have returned to check them merely shoqws they knew clearly they were at risk and the periods between visits were the very cause of the outcome that night when Madeleine allegedly went missing.

Had these 2 Doctors acted responsibly and ensured the 3 babies were not abandoned, either by remaining with them, taking them with them or by ensuring they had an approved baby sitter Madeleine would still be in their care as a teenager now!

Regards,
Greg_L-W.

Hi,

.

What REALLY happened the night Madeleine McCann disappeared as nanny breaks her 10-year silence

The former child minder said she is still haunted by the image of dad Gerry desperately trying to find their missing daughter while she tried to comfort weeping mum Kate

A nanny who looked after Madeleine McCann has told how the youngster’s parents were plunged into despair and panic when the horrifying truth she had vanished sank in.

The former child minder said she is still haunted by the image of dad Gerry desperately trying to find their missing daughter while she tried to comfort weeping mum Kate who cried: “They’ve taken her.”

Breaking her silence after 10 years, the witness also claimed the resort from which Madeleine vanished was considered so unsafe nannies were handed rape alarms and told to not go out alone.

And she slammed the Portuguese police’s handling of the disappearance, insisting their blundering scuppered any chances of finding who had snatched three-year-old Madeleine.

Madeleine has been missing since 2007 (Photo: PA)

Speaking of that dreadful night in May 2007, the ex-nanny –who looked after the girl several times – said: “A parent came to me and said there was something going on, and said someone’s looking for a child, I didn’t instantly think it was Maddie.

“A couple of minutes later I walked into Kate crying, friends comforting her, Gerry looking under cars, and it just blew up.

“I don’t even think she saw me. I just stood next to her and tried to comfort her.

“She was pacing up and down. The worst possible thing had just happened to her.

“I think I said something like, ‘She’ll be found, these things happen all the time.’

“She was crying, but almost in a catatonic state, and Gerry was very distressed. That’s the one thing I really remember from him, looking under the cars. I can’t forget that.

“We were told to start looking in bins in case her body was in there. It was at that point we realised this was serious.”

Along with other staff, the ex-carer, who worked for travel firm Mark Warner at the the Ocean Club resort, sifted by hand in the dark through industrial-sized bins and piping leading into the sea in their hunt for Madeleine.

They also walked Praia da Luz’s small, winding streets searching for the missing girl until they were told, against their wills at 5am, that it was time for bed.

But the woman, who we are not naming, said she is still furious with local police , who she claimed took 90 minutes to arrive on the scene.

And she told how people were in and out of the apartment where Madeleine vanished from – contaminating a potential crime scene.

The former nanny added: “I know I didn’t step into that apartment but pretty much everybody else did. So, evidence gone, nothing. There was nobody there to say, ‘We need to lock this off now.’

“The police didn’t get there for ages, maybe an hour and a half, so we were looking for her.

“And at the end of the day, no matter how much you’ve been trained with children, we were children, mainly teenagers, we’re not police.

“That’s why police were trying to get everyone’s timelines, because they weren’t there.”

She also told how she was interviewed by officers in the wake of Madeleine’s disappearance and later detectives from the Met’s Operation Grange handed her two pages of statements they had retrieved from their Algarve compratiots.

Her original statement was four to five pages long, but the one the Portuguese had been working from was only two pages long – missing a number of details from her interview.

The woman claimed “whole chunks of information were missed out”.

She added: “I think a lot of things should’ve happened differently. Unfortunately the effects were catastrophic.”

And the carer told how she was astonished Kate and Gerry were ever deemed suspects in their own child’s disappearance.

She is still constantly quizzed by people about the case who ask if “the parents did it”.

She said: “I tell them no, there’s no way at all. A, timings and B, where it was, their reactions, the whole thing. Not a chance.”

The woman also told how Madeleine was a favourite among the child minders. Her allocated nanny was Catriona Baker, but others also got the chance to look after her.

The carer added: “I remember her character and temperament. She was slightly shy, very sweet. Not loud or precocious.

“We obviously give the same care to all the children, but she was a real cutie and a real sweetheart. If you asked her, ‘Can you just pass me that?’ She’d be like, ‘Sure.’

“She was easy for us, and you were happy to sit and help out this pretty little girl who’s really nice.”

While the Ocean Club was clearly popular with British holidaymakers like the McCanns, from Rothley, Leics, the former child minder claimed it was considered an unsafe place for those who worked there.

After she arrived she was stunned when a fellow nanny passed on a message from hotel staff to never venture off the site alone.

She added: “I just couldn’t get over how different it was to other Mark Warner resorts.

“We were told, ‘Here’s a rape whistle, don’t go anywhere by yourself, ever.’ There’d been a girl attacked the year or so before in Praia da Luz. It didn’t sound like a family resort to me.

“I just got the feeling the locals didn’t want us there.”

It emerged in 2014 that 11 years earlier a 10-year-old British girl had been sexually assaulted “in the heart” of Praia da Luz.

The victim came forward three years ago after a Scotland Yard appeal revealed a string of potentially linked sex assaults on young UK girls across the Algarve between 2004 and 2006.

Mark Warner, which operates in resorts all over the world, quit Praia da Luz in 2015.

Madeleine vanished as her parents ate with friends at a tapas bar just 40 yards from where she slept next to twin siblings, Amelie and Sean.

But the former nanny, who couldn’t face child minding again after the Algarve horror, said dining while kids were in the apartments was “really normal” in such resorts.

And she insisted there was no evidence Kate and Gerry would ever neglect their kids.

She said: “I remember thinking, even before I knew them, how they were the picture perfect family.”

Asked if she thinks Madeleine is still alive, the woman said: “Think possibly is the wrong word, but hope. I hope she is still alive.

“It’s probably very naive, but the best case scenario of a very horrible situation, is that she was procured and taken for a rich person who didn’t have children.

“I can’t go anywhere else in my head. I can read it about other people and know how horrible that seedy world is where children are sold. But my brain won’t go there with her. I just switch off.

“But I think the only person who knows exactly what happened is Madeleine. Can I believe it’s 10 years on? Yes and no.

No because 10 years seems like a really long time, she’d be nearly 14.

“And yes, because sometimes, when I talk about it, it feels like I’m right back there again.

“I wonder if she’s alive. Does she even remember? Does she remember her parents?

“I’m probably less harrowed by it now, but that’s just because, although it’s awful, it’s become accepted.

“‘It’s Madeleine, she’s gone missing but it would just be the best day ever if I could be told that she’s been found.”

Operation Grange, which was last month given £85,000 of Home Office funding to extend its probe until September, still speaks to witnesses.
